Creatives Together: Empowering Local Artisans in Ely and inspiring the local community. A collective of talented artists and makers brought together by five members of The Ceramic Hub (pottery workshop in Wicken). Creatives Together are delighted to announce their successful launch event which was held on Saturday, 27th May 2023. Showcasing the diverse range of arts and crafts created by local artists and supported by hundreds of enthusiastic visitors; there was a real buzz in the venue, new friendships were formed, creative ideas and passions shared and many purchases made. A vibrant monthly event, The Creatives Together Independent Makers Market provides a platform for local artists and makers to sell and demonstrate their crafts, including art, jewellery, ceramics and prints, in a fun and friendly atmosphere, fostering a sense of community and celebrating the abundance of creative talent in the area.
The Creatives Together event held on the 27th May, at The Old Dispensary in Ely, exceeded all expectations, with a remarkable turnout of both artists and visitors, with fantastic feedback received. The event showcased a wide array of high quality, unique, handmade items, capturing the attention and admiration of art enthusiasts and buyers alike. Raising funds to support the local community, exhibitors and organisers generously donated handmade items to the raffle table, tickets were sold and the event raised £68 to benefit the local food bank. The positive response and support from the local community were instrumental in making the event a resounding success, “We are thrilled with the overwhelming support and response we received for our first Makers Market event” said Corinne Eagling, one of the Creatives Together team. “The event brought together local artists and makers, creating an incredible opportunity for them to showcase their talent and connect with art enthusiasts in our community. We are excited to build upon this success and continue promoting the arts in Ely.” The next Creatives Together event is sure to be a date for the diary and everyone is invited to mark their calendars for the upcoming Creatives Together Makers Market, which will be held on Saturday, 24th June 2023, at The Old Dispensary, 13 St Mary’s Street, Ely. This event promises to be another remarkable gathering of local artists and artisans, offering a diverse range of creative works for inspiration or purchase.
